Practice standards

Beaumont Veterinary Group branches have been inspected and accredited by RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) as a Tier 2 practice (Small Animal General Practice).

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons register veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses to practise in the UK, and regulate their educational, ethical and clinical standards.

The RCVS Practice Standards Scheme aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care, and accredited practices have volunteered to be inspected at least every four years, and have met standards in areas such as equipment, staff training, and hygiene. Practices are also subject to random checks between inspections.

Inspectors visit the practice with a strict set of guidelines to cover all aspects of small animal practice. These include:

  • Clean, hygienic and secure premises
  • Effective sterilisation of instruments and equipment
  • Full compliance with health and safety regulation
  • Diagnostic equipment set up and maintained
  • Surgical facilities
  • 24-hour service
  • Accurate patient records
  • Qualifications and training of staff

Being accredited by RCVS means the practice gets guidance and support to meet ever changing guidelines and standards, allowing us to offer the best levels of care to both our clients and their pets. It also encourages an increase in public awareness of the importance of choosing a veterinary practice carefully.
